It means that you enter adulthood with a desire to change the world around you, to leave a mark and to not settle for average.”– Rector Pavel Matějka"UCT Prague aims to accommodate all constructive activities of students, especially those that develop the abilities of (participating) students themselves, student life or otherwise help build a richer and more dynamic community at VŠCHT Prague."– Rector emeritus Karel MelzochA diploma is not enough
The EDUin survey shows that employers look at much more than just educational attainment during interviews. Participation in student associations and senates is a striking part of career success. Why? In an organization, you and your peers experience what it's like to lead a team, manage an organization, deal with partners, promote, manage finances, etc.You will meet other capable classmates and start to attract people who are interested in similar goals, you may use the valuable experience more in the future than you expected.[urlnadstranka] => / [iduzel] => 65973 [canonical_url] => [skupina_www] => Array ( ) [url] => /home [sablona] => stdClass Object ( [class] => stranka_galerie_velka [html] => [css] => [js] => [autonomni] => 1 ) ) [65981] => stdClass Object ( [nazev] => Management [seo_title] => Management [seo_desc] => [autor] => Lukáš Mrazík [autor_email] => mrazikl@vscht.cz [perex] =>Do you have ideas on how to move the university forward, but feel like no one will talk to you? Do you want to join existing projects? Do you want to become a part of the never-ending process of finding the best way to operate the university?Student senators are your representatives in the management of UCT Prague and in the management of individual faculties, where they defend the interests of all of us and ensure that students have the best possible conditions for their studies. You can contact the student senators whenever you have an idea, constructive criticism, comment or any problem related to the organization of the university or faculty.[ikona] => [obrazek] => [ogobrazek] => [pozadi] => [obsah] =>Students are in principle (and by law) an essential part of the educational process. At universities, students are directly involved in making decisions about the school's future through academic senates.Being a senator is hard work and you can't get much done in one election period, that's why senators join together in a larger body - a college, where former senators, unsuccessful candidates and others cooperate. There is no need to jump straight into unknown waters - you can get involved in other ways than through candidacy!Who we are?
The Academic Senate is by law the highest decision-making body of every university and faculty. Its main agenda includes approving the budget and approving the rector's/dean's returns and internal directives. There are five senates in total. One "large" school-wide one (AS UCT) and one "small" at each faculty (e.g. AS FCE). In the large senate, the student chamber has 8 representatives (2 from each faculty in any degree). There are always 4 student representatives in the faculty senates, two doctoral and two bachelor + master students. Elections to the student section of all senates are held uniformly every fall. Students make up roughly a third of all members in each senate. The rest are made up of academic staff of faculties and individual institutes. The current representation of students in senates can be found on the Czech section of the website. What's in for you?
Being a senator will give you experience of running a university and an insight into what it's like from the other side of the department. You will learn to act in a team and negotiate compromise solutions to problems. If you want to become a senator, nominate yourself in the next elections, which will be held in the fall. If you think you don't have enough experience for this yet, join K3S first and get involved in solving various projects unofficially.Contact:
Do you want to join or do you have any questions/suggestions? But these are not the clubs for the chosen few that you see in American films - our clubs bring together people interested in culture, sport, the arts and other areas. So whether you want to interact with international students, play hockey, take photos, or participate in cultural events on campus, clubs are the way to do it.
[ikona] => [obrazek] => [ogobrazek] => [pozadi] => [obsah] =>Why join?
Membership in a university club allows you to make valuable friendships outside your study group, year or faculty. It is also one of the most effective tools to develop soft skills such as teamwork, time management or people management. In addition, through your activity you can continuously clarify what role you are most comfortable with in teamwork and move forward in the process of self-discovery, which will be very important for job selection! How to join a club?
Simply find the contact details of the leader under the relevant society and get in touch via any communication channel. You have nothing to worry about, new members are always welcome. How to start a club?
You need to register a new society at the Counselling and Career Centre (940). It's easy: just have a few people (min. 2) in the party, a clear purpose and a completed application form. There is NO need to form an organization in the legal sense. The registration form and detailed information can be found in the Rules bellow.Support and facilities
The Counselling and Career Centre (CCC) provides support to university clubs in a variety of areas.Do you feel like doing something but don't know exactly which way to go? Drop by our office anytime to discuss your ideas and help direct you to one of the societies or start a new one.Societies can also contact CCC if they are facing disagreements, differences of opinion or staffing crises, or if they are unsure about technical facilities and production issues. The CCC allows all registered societies to set up a team in the MS Teams application. If you are interested (and you are the leader of a society), please write an email to the Secretary or the Head of the Computing Centre to request the creation of Teams and add a link to your society's registration form. Someone from K3S will be happy to show you how Teams works![urlnadstranka] => [iduzel] => 65985 [canonical_url] => [skupina_www] => Array ( ) [url] => /clubs [sablona] => stdClass Object ( [class] => stranka_submenu [html] => [css] => [js] => [autonomni] => 1 ) ) [66000] => stdClass Object ( [nazev] => Šípek's Faculty Championship [seo_title] => Šípek's Faculty Championship [seo_desc] => [autor] => Karel Pecha [autor_email] => pechak@vscht.cz [obsah] =>Faculty rivalry at UCT Prague has been going on for a long time, but with the advent of the Šípek's Faculty Championship, faculties have the opportunity to compete in sports and other disciplines officially!
Throughout the academic year, our 4 brilliant faculties battle it out to score valuable points in a variety of events from chess tournaments to dragon boat races. The faculty that has the most points at the end of the year can then boast of the supreme championship, unquestionable proof of their superiority and the travelling Šípek's Cup all the next year!
And who is this Šípek? The decision of who to name the cup after was very simple. The legendary founder of Kachekran, who was instrumental in boosting the social life of our alma mater, Associate Professor Milan Šípek, agreed to become the patron of the Cup.

Boardgamings s are (un)regular gaming meetings held roughly once a month from 16:00 to 20:00 in Respirium, Building B at UCT Prague, each time on a different day of the week. They are intended mainly for students and employees of UCT and their close ones (family, friends, acquaintances, etc.). During the boardgamings, members of the DBCG will be available to help you with the selection of the game or with its rules.
If you don't have anyone to play with, don't despair, it often happens that there are more people like that, so we will be happy to connect you or join a group. Plus, in the worst case scenario, we have Solo games available.
If you are interested in one of the larger games, it is beneficial to find a teammate on the Facebook event, or let us know so we can set up the game in time.
You can find out about Boardgamings primarily on our Facebook, as well as in the university calendar, on the EMIL app, posters, and screens at the entrances to the university.

Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game Players Club -- Free Play & Tournaments!
[ikona] => [obrazek] => [ogobrazek] => [pozadi] => [obsah] =>Who are we?
We are a group of people who regularly play the collectible card game Magic: the Gathering (MtG). This club aims to bring together other MtG players on campus, whether seasoned veterans, those who haven't played in a while, or complete newbies. Primarily, we will be holding regular meetings where we will play mostly formats like Pauper, possibly Commander or Draft (see FAQ).
What's in for you?
A chance to get acquainted (or reacquainted) with the game and the people who play it. The game itself is thirty years old, but still evolving with each addition of new cards and game mechanics. Each game is different and often full of twists and turns, so there's no shortage of fun!
Events
Regular free play meetings where anyone can come, regardless of ability. MtG is a game where each player needs their own game deck. If you don't have one, you'll be able to borrow one of the featured decks. If you don't know the rules, we'll be happy to teach you.
We are also planning to organize school tournaments or drafts, e.g. in our own little MtG league, where you will be able to win something for good placement.
FAQ
What is the format?
Format is another term for a game mode used in the MtG community. Formats differ primarily by which cards are "allowed" to be played in it. But they can also differ in whether they are for two or two or more players, how big players can build decks, etc.
Commander? Pauper? Draft? What does that mean?
Pauper is a format designed for two-player play. Sixty-card decks are allowed to play (almost) any card that has been released at least once in the history of MtG as a so-called Common, or "common rarity". The advantage of the format is that the cards are inexpensive and the player can play professional-level decks for a pittance. The format is perfect for newcomers and also for the seasoned player who has a lot of unused Common cards at home.
Commander is a format designed for two or more players, where everyone plays against each other, or can play (in the case of 4 players) for example 2v2. Decks of 100 cards are played, where each card may only be played once, unlike other formats where a maximum of 4 copies are allowed = "playset." One is then reserved as a so-called Commander, i.e. a kind of leader of the army represented by the deck. Around his abilities, skills and colours the whole package is then built.
Draft is a tournament format where a deck of forty cards is created on the spot from randomly drawn supplementary decks of cards (called boosters), which are rotated among the players, who draw cards from them to form the strongest possible decks, which they then compete against each other. At the end, the scores from each match are added together to determine the winning order.
I didn't understand any of the answers in the FAQ, what should I do?
Ask someone directly either by chat or in person at a meeting, we'll be happy to help, advise...

Are you interested in how your behaviour affects the planet? Do you want to learn more about sustainability and climate change, but are not familiar with the information? Do you want to get involved in promoting sustainable lifestyles? Then you've come to the right place!
[ikona] => [obrazek] => [ogobrazek] => [pozadi] => [obsah] =>Who are we?
Climate change and sustainability. Topics that are increasingly topical. And although there's a whole faculty dedicated to the environment, you don't hear about it as much on campus. And we want to change that.
We are enthusiasts from the University of Science and Technology who are committed to environmentalism and sustainability in our professional and personal lives. Our goal is to build a community of people who want to make the world a better place and preserve our planet for future generations. As part of the association's work, we are dedicated to educating people about ecology and sustainability through social media, podcasts, and a newsletter. And when the situation allows us, we plan to organize events such as screening themed films, swaps, and also running community fridges at the UCT and in the dorms. But we definitely don't plan to stop there!
What are we doing?
- We are currently focusing on creating informative graphics that we post on our social media.
- We're developing a podcast focused on everyday opportunities to develop a sustainable society.
- When the situation allows, we will be hosting events for students and the public.
What's in for you?
- You'll meet a new group of friends who are similarly passionate about sustainable living.
- You will not only broaden your horizons in the field of sustainable development, circular economy or zero waste, but you will also learn how to gather new information and how to share it!
- Our activities are varied, so you can choose what you enjoy the most or what you want to try.
- You will be involved in organising events for students and maybe even the public. That's the kind of experience that doesn't go to waste.

Chemists and scientists involved in theatrical improvisation
Chempro is a group of several scientific madmen from UCT Prague and the surrounding area, who are also engaged in improvisational theater. Each of them has their own team in which they train, but together they create a unique scientist-actor combination. They got together at the beginning of the 2015/2016 academic year and performed for the first time on November 12, 2015 on the topic "Science is a well-prepared improvisation" at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. We are a part of DI(v)OCH club.
What's in for you?
We learn to work in a team and at the same time take responsibility into our own hands, speak in public, present ourselves and our joint work, communicate, not be afraid to speak our mind, solve problems, create situations and stories, be active, react, be present and open.
We train every Thursday at 17:15 - 18:45 at UCT Prague (or according to the selected day in the semester according to the team members' schedule). Do you want to come watch the training? Do you want to fool around, play, have fun, become a party member, work with stage fright, develop your skills, learn to present yourself? Write Danča and come!

Our club brings together ambitious young and older academics with an interest in home brewing.
Who are we?
We bring expertise to this hobby, but that doesn't mean it's just theory. Like anyone who has a close relationship with beer, we like to evaluate our products sensorially. We discuss recipes and the processes by which this or that tasty sample was prepared. This and much more is part of our tight-knit and well-hopped club.
What's in for you?
What benefits await you as a member? We will reveal all the nooks and crannies of home brewing, and if St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of Czech beer and brewers, grants it, we won't even have a dry throat. Come and see for yourself.

Chess club for students, graduates and friends of UCT - from beginners to experts!
Who we are?
We are a chess club, founded for the purpose of creating and strengthening the chess community at UCT and the surrounding area and attracting more members from around universities, colleges and chess clubs. We cater to all levels of players and everyone can play with us - from complete beginners to chess masters.
What does that get you?
The opportunity to learn the rules, improve your chess skills, meet new people with similar interests, try puzzles on our website, great experiences from physical tournaments and trophies for placement (possible to participate in regular tournaments where you can try playing against players from your level, and maybe even win one of the many excellent prizes for placement). We try to make chess a fun and relaxing activity for everyone interested.
Events
At the end of the "covid era", we moved from online events to physical events, which include semester-long Winter and Summer chess tournaments, and tournaments on special occasions, but we also still organize online events, namely the UCT Chess League, in which points are earned for participation and placement in Lichess.org online arenas.

Who we are?
We are a group of video game enthusiasts who would like to present this very specific branch of sport at UCT. We want to show everyone that chemists are not only geniuses in the laboratory, but that we can also work with a mouse, keyboard or possibly a gamepad or steering wheel. Computer games improve our sensorimotor skills, and who would benefit more than chemists in their natural environment? It is true that we are self-taught, but in our ranks there are also several professional players and very capable people who can handle streaming from the ground or the basement of UCT. At the school, we organize tournaments for in-kind donations, LAN-parties, streams and many other events.
What's in for you?
- you will gain new teammates from among chemists
- improving your ability to lead the team to victory
- we will teach you with the most widespread platform for streaming
- a unique opportunity to participate in or organize tournaments and LAN-parties
- you can say that you are a member of our association and that is always nice

DI(v)OCH (roughly stands for The Theatre of Willing Chemists) is a group of students, employees and friends of UCT who are interested in theatre. Here you can find both those interested in "classical" drama and theatre improvisation (Chempro).
We deal with drama, so far mostly classical (Crime and Punishment, The Pied Piper, How Important It Is to Have Philip). However, we are not afraid to experiment and create our own (for now) smaller plays and performances. We present our productions at such venues as Dejvice Theatre and Drama Club. We also perform at various events of our alma mater, friendly universities or theatres. Our rehearsals are held once or twice a week in the evenings in the school premises.
We have been a source of cultural enrichment, inspiration and unforgettable experience not only for the students and employees of VŠCHT Prague since 2011. The history of DI(v)OCH began in the academic year 2011/2012, when our ensemble was founded by Martin Janda, Miroslava Nováková and Lukáš Krásný, now graduates of our alma mater. However, the life of DI(v)OCH did not end with their departure and its tradition is cherished, what is more, its scope is expanded and open to other ideas that its members come up with. With productions like Crime and Punishment and Dyk's The Pied Piper under its belt, the core of the classical theatre expanded in 2016 to include an improvisational wing named Chempro, which has performed several shows since then.
What's in for you?
We're playful, creative and unstoppable. We are definitely not a closed club! So if you want to, come along and discover what it means to stand on boards that mean the world! For those of you who don't want to stand on these boards, but want to join theatre making in a different way, the same applies - so, our arms are open!
Trying to look under the mask of acting and improvisation means constantly working on yourself - how to perform in public, how to manage stage fright, improvise and concentrate. You will learn how to work with and interpret text. If you don't want to act, but rather make a theatrical living by creating costumes, sets, lighting or music, the door is of course open to you too!

Who are we?
UNI-ART brings the joy of music, images and words among chemists and chemists closer to the spotlight. It has hosted many events - concerts, music and theatre festivals, author readings, several exhibitions of scientific photography, and even yoga classes. In addition, the association acts as a platform for the realisation of artistically oriented projects. It helped start the school choir and picked up the tradition of a summer cinema in the school. It is also involved in other campus events such as Hanami and Lesamáj. Little by little, he is bridging the worlds of science, art and entertainment.
What's in for you?
- We're great (friends)

Orchestra composed of students, employees and friends of the UCT Prague.
Who are we?
After rehearsals we usually go out for a beer, which is a good opportunity for new members to get valuable information about the teachers, subjects... In the orchestra there are students of all years sitting next to each other and even a few practitioners, so such familiarity is not at all a bad thing.
In the summer semester we play at open-air Hanami and Lesamay events, where our trademark white coats are our hallmark. In addition, we play at the Chemists' Ball, graduations, and our own concerts. We have also established cooperation with other student societies (Chemchór, poch).
Every semester we add new pieces and the repertoire expands. We play classical, film and jazz

Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game Players Club -- Free Play & Tournaments!
[ikona] => [obrazek] => [ogobrazek] => [pozadi] => [obsah] =>Who are we?
