Results

The winners of the fourth edition of the Vitriol Student Prize 2024 in 6 categories were:

Best teacher of FCT

PhDr. Lucie Rychnová, Ph.D.

According to the evaluation of many students, Dr. Rychnová is an excellent and inspiring teacher who, apart from teaching and research at the Institute of Chemical Technology of Monument Restoration at the University of Technology in Prague, also devotes herself to publishing (scientific publications, monographs and chapters in art and history books) and popularizing science. In surveys, students particularly highlight her approach to teaching, which they find very motivating and encouraging. Students also appreciate the exceptionally engaging lectures and the inclusion of excursions in the teaching.

Best teacher of FTE

Ing. Jiří Hendrych, Ph.D.

Dr. Hendrych had the highest number of nominations of all the candidates, and he has received numerous Vitriol Award nominations in previous years. He has a long-standing positive rating in student surveys, always responds to student comments, and strives to continually improve based on student suggestions.

Best teacher of FFBT

Ing. Eva Jablonská, Ph.D.

Dr. Jablonska received repeated nominations from students for the Vitriol Award this year and in previous years. Students appreciate her above-and-beyond approach to teaching and pedagogical activities, as well as her openness and commitment to non-teaching activities beyond her job duties.

Best teacher of FCE

prof. RNDr. Bc. Petr Slavíček, Ph.D.

What students appreciate about Professor Slavíček is his great approach to teaching, his humour and the ease with which he is able to convey even very difficult topics. He is a very wise and friendly teacher who has long approached teaching as a mission, with the aim of educating a young generation of chemists capable of pushing science forward.

Best teacher of non-faculty departments

Mgr. Pavel Bakule

Pavel Bakule works at our school within the Department of Physical Education and Sports. In his work he teaches a wide range of sports (swimming, canoeing, judo...) and organizes sports courses. Within the semester courses, he is able to not only enthuse and motivate students to actively participate in his classes, but also to develop skills in the chosen sport discipline, which the student did not even hope for at the beginning of the semester. All this in a non-violent way and in a friendly spirit. During the summer and winter sports courses that it organises, the participants also have the opportunity to meet and get to know each other across disciplines and faculties, in addition to playing sports. It can be said that these well-organised courses become a kind of catalyst for the formation of unexpected friendships.

Best non-teaching staff member

Mgr. Mili Viktorie Losmanová

Mili Viktorie Losmanová holds a PhD support position at our school. As part of her work, she organizes educational seminars not only for PhD students (Data Stewardship, Supervision Seminars, Doctoral Summer School...), processes the necessary documents required for the work of the PhD office and improves the awareness of students, either through the work of the Electronic PhD signposting team, whose work she covers and coordinates, or directly during the regular Open Office Hours, where she tries to solve all the problems of PhD students. He approaches his work with vigour and enthusiasm, which he tries to pass on to everyone around him. He regularly participates in international conferences on doctoral studies, where he presents projects that work at our school and draws inspiration on how to improve the environment (not only) for doctoral students at our school.
