UCT Chess Club

Who are we?

We are a chess club founded to support the chess community at UCT Prague and the surrounding area.

We regularly organize both casual and official chess events—we welcome players of all levels, and absolutely everyone can play with us, from complete beginners to chess masters.

All members of our leadership are skilled chess players, and we even have licensed referees among us.

What specifically can we offer you?

Our events!

We organize both online and in-person events.

Online events include a chess league, chess tournaments, and online arenas.

In-person events include semester tournaments (traditional Dejvice and Holešovice events), official tournaments (under the auspices of the international chess association, making it possible to obtain an official FIDE ELO rating), showcases, and presentations (university events).

Furthermore, we help organize events at partner universities and for other chess clubs/societies—assisting with organization, lending equipment, refereeing events, and providing tips based on our experience.

We strive to make chess a fun and relaxing activity for everyone interested. In other words – we were, are, and will be able to offer you a lot.
